Abstract. In this paper, we construct stationary classical solutions of the incompressible Euler equation approximating singular stationary solutions of this equation. This procedure is carried out by constructing solutions to the following elliptic problem { −ε2∆u = (u− q − κ 2π ln 1ε )p+, x ∈ Ω, u = 0, x ∈ ∂Ω, where p > 1, Ω ⊂ R is a bounded domain, q is a harmonic function. We showed that if Ω is simply-connected smooth domain, then for any given nondegenerate critical point of Kirchhoff-Routh functionW(x1, · · · , xm) with the same strength κ > 0, there is a stationary classical solution approximating stationary m points vortex solution of incompressible Euler equations with vorticity mκ. Existence and asymptotic behavior of single point non-vanishing vortex solutions were studied by D. Smets and J. Van Schaftingen in [20].

Boundary temperature reconstruction in an inverse heat conduction problem using boundary integral equation method

‎In this paper‎, ‎we consider an inverse boundary value problem for two-dimensional heat equation in an annular domain‎. ‎This problem consists of determining the temperature on the interior boundary curve from the Cauchy data (boundary temperature and heat flux) on the exterior boundary curve‎. ‎To this end‎, ‎the boundary integral equation method is used‎. ‎Since the resulting system of linea...

Interaction of vortices in viscous planar flows

We consider the inviscid limit for the two-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equation in the particular case where the initial flow is a finite collection of point vortices. We suppose that the initial positions and the circulations of the vortices do not depend on the viscosity parameter ν, and we choose a time T > 0 such that the Helmholtz-Kirchhoff point vortex system is well-posed on...

Vortex Motion Law for the Schrödinger-Ginzburg-Landau Equations

In the Ginzburg-Landau model for superconductivity a large Ginzburg-Landau parameter κ corresponds to the formation of tight, stable vortices. These vortices are located where an applied magnetic field pierces the superconducting bulk, and each vortex induces a quantized supercurrent about the vortex. The energy of large-κ solutions blows up near each vortex which brings about difficulties in a...
